Irena is a climate and environmental justice attorney with over 15 years of broad experience in strategic environmental and civil
rights litigation, juvenile defense, policy advocacy and collaborative leadership roles. Her involvement with ECWA reflects her commitment to tackling climate and pollution challenges using intersectional, community-centered approaches.

Fluent in Albanian, Spanish and Italian, Irena graduated from Earlham College with a BA in Sociology/Anthropology and Comparative
Languages and Linguistics, MA in Social Anthropology from Central European University, and JD from Notre Dame Law School.
